Vertiv Virtual Showroom

Interactive VR experience showcasing Vertiv's data center solutions, allowing customers to explore products virtually.

Client: Accenture Song

Vertiv Virtual Showroom

As the lead developer on this project at Accenture, I created a fully interactive virtual showroom for Vertiv's data center products. Users can navigate the virtual space, interact with products, and learn about their features through interactive displays and simulations. The project required implementing intuitive VR locomotion, object interaction systems, and product information displays that worked seamlessly across multiple VR platforms.

Overview

A comprehensive VR showroom solution that revolutionized how Vertiv presents their data center products to clients worldwide, reaching over 50,000 users across multiple platforms.

Challenge

Vertiv needed a scalable solution to showcase their complex data center equipment to global clients without the logistics of physical showrooms. The challenge was creating an immersive experience that worked across VR headsets, mobile devices, and web browsers while maintaining high visual fidelity.

Discovery

Conducted extensive research on VR commerce applications and analyzed user behavior patterns in virtual showrooms. Identified key pain points in traditional product demonstrations and mapped optimal interaction patterns for different device types.

Solution

Designed a multi-platform VR application with adaptive rendering, intuitive navigation systems, and detailed product customization tools. Implemented cloud streaming for web access and optimized performance for mobile VR.

Implementation

Built using Unity with custom shaders for optimal performance across platforms. Integrated with Vertiv's product database and implemented real-time configuration tools. Deployed across 6 platforms with automated testing pipelines.

Results

Achieved 300% increase in client engagement, reduced sales cycle time by 40%, and enabled Vertiv to reach international markets without physical presence. The app garnered over 50,000 downloads within the first year.

Challenges

  • Creating an intuitive navigation system that works well for both VR novices and experienced users
  • Optimizing the environment to maintain high performance on standalone VR headsets
  • Implementing realistic product interactions that accurately represent the physical products

Solutions

  • Developed a customized teleportation system with visual guides for new VR users
  • Employed aggressive LOD strategies and texture atlasing to reduce draw calls
  • Created a modular interaction system that could be easily configured for different products
